Services provided by Ryder will include inventory management, warehousing, environmental management, assembly and kitting, and a customized warehouse management system. “This effort is part of a larger initiative to optimize supply chain processes,” says Linda Valimahomed, Kodak’s manager of Americas Logistics. “We have selected Ryder as our partner based on its dated into and served by Ryder’s nearest existing locations. CN Sees Strong Interest in Intermodal Service Between Eastern Quebec, Western Canada CN says its new intermodal service between the eastern Québec region, Toronto and western Canada should appeal to forest products producers and manufacturers seeking cost-effective transportation to key markets in Ontario and the West. “We believe there is strong interest in this intermodal option in the Québec City area and beyond, including Jonquière, Chicoutimi, Montmagny, La Pocatière and Rivière-du-Loup,” says Stan Jablonski, CN senior vice president, sales. “We have the capacity to accommodate new traffic volumes between these centers, Toronto and the West.” The new CN product will appeal to shippers of heavy products who can load 60,000 pounds in a 40foot container, which has the equivalent capacity of a 53-foot truck trailer. Jablonski says, “The service will reduce wear and tear on long-distance truck fleets and extend the environmental benefits of rail to a new group of shippers. In the transaction, Ryder acquired Gator’s fleet of approximately 1,475 full service lease, 650 commercial rental, and 150 held-for-sale units, serving 300 contract customers. Ryder acquired four of Gator’s nine Florida operating locations, two of which are in Miami, as well as Riviera Beach and Orlando.
