SEKO Introduces Software System to Manage Multiple Purchase Orders SEKO, a global forwarder, has a new purchase order management tool on offer that it says takes the complexity out of managing multiple purchase orders from multiple vendors while saving time and money in overall supply chain costs. Called Supplier PO Management, the system provides “true end-to-end visibility from the vendor to the warehouse and all the way through to delivery.” All PO entries and changes are recorded and preserved, displaying the original entries, current status, changes made, who made the changes, and when. SEKO says the tool eliminates chances for lost or misplaced purchase orders, time wasted on complicated spreadsheets and continuous follow-ups. Supplier PO Management is Web-based and integrated into suite of dedicated fleet technology solutions—such as electronic proof of delivery, wireless communications and scheduling applications—in addition to effective fleet management to drive efficiencies and optimize delivery routes. New Version of Infor Supply Chain Modeling Tool Focuses on Sustainability Requirements Infor says the latest version of its supply chain modeling solution, Infor SCM Network Design, optimizes users’ networks in a number of ways, not least in making them more carbon efficient. Infor says its product has advanced modeling capabilities that incorporate relevant costs, facilities and transport modes to help companies make strategic decisions that maximize efficiencies based on criteria most important to the organization. In the latest release, Infor SCM Network Design incorporates sustainability criteria, enabling companies to factor carbon emissions related to nodes, such as plants, warehouses and stores, and transport modes, including rail, air, trucking, and ocean freight. Exel to Distribute Parts for 270 Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge Dealers in Midwest States Exel says it is to provide dedicated delivery services to dealers serviced by Chrysler’s Mopar Parts Distribution Center in Naperville, Ill. The contract affects 270 Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge dealers in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan and Wisconsin. Mopar is the original equipment parts manufacturer and distributor for Chrysler LLC. Exel says its centralized delivery service support team utilizes a Levin Deploys RedPrairie Warehouse Management System at Pennsylvania Facility Levin Furniture is implementing RedPrairie’s warehouse management solution at its distribution center in Smithton, Pa., in a bid to get distribution efficiencies through faster and more accurate order fulfillment and improved productivity. In replacing its legacy warehouse solution, Levin is gaining visibility into merchandise across its internal supply chain.
