The offer waives standard ERP integration fees for any i2 customers that decide to adopt the Kinaxis on-demand RapidResponse service. The offer follows the news that JDA Software of Scottsdale, Ariz., has purchased i2 Technologies of Richardson, Texas. “Many i2 customers are reevaluating their business and technology needs,” says Randy Littleson, vice president of marketing, Kinaxis. “We’re offering them a proven solution that will not only provide the comfort of a long-term product development commitment, but will provide added benefit and broader value than their current solution.” Visit www.kinaxis.com. Lab Instruments Manufacturer Deploys Business Intelligence Solution from Oco Beckman Coulter Inc., a developer and manufacturer of laboratory testing instruments and supplies, has chosen Oco’s business intelligence solution to provide advanced reporting and analytics. “We selected Oco because of its unique ability to rapidly deploy its solution,” says Craig Cole, global strategic operations director. “Another important factor was Oco’s ability to integrate data from multiple systems and produce focused reports to understand and drive performance improvement across multiple dimensions of our services business.” Oco’s Inventory Management module will be deployed in Beckman Coulter’s services business to enhance global visibility into key business data. “We are pleased that Beckman Coulter selected Oco, and we see a great fit between our solution and its commitment to driving operational efficiencies,” says William Copacino, president and CEO of Oco. “Our packaged modules of best practices allow Beckman Coulter to get reports and visibility across its service parts business within a matter of weeks. Because the modules allow users to drill down to a granular level of detail, the company can easily see root causes of issues and identify areas for improvement.” Visit www.oco-inc.com. XATA Improves Digital Mapping Functions on On-Demand Fleet Operations Software XATA Corporation says it is adding improved digital mapping software to its XATANET on-demand fleet operations software. The upgrade will provide XATANET end users with more high-quality data, including larger and more dynamic maps, to help better track exact vehicle location and improve route details. Available in November 2008, the enhanced mapping capability is part of the XATANET 4.3 release. XATA will leverage maps from Microsoft Virtual Earth, which pulls geographic data directly from the Web for up-to-the-minute vehicle tracking. Mapping enhancement highlights include draggable maps, which enable users to quickly pan and see a broader view of the highlighted geographical area; increased customization, which allows users to include information specific to delivery routes; and improved GPS positioning controls for more accurate delivery and pickup location information.
