integrated into DSR's proprietary
digital convergence platform
through DSR's software development kit (SDK). Every Bouygues
employee has access to the app.
DSR has integrated beacon
technology into the light fixtures
at the worksite, essentially creating
beacon light fixtures. Currently
in beta, the app was developed by
DSR for Bouygues after several
months of design.
With the use of Digital Social Retail beacon connectors,
Bouygues workers are sent immediate safety messages that are
designed to help avoid accidents.
Workers are able to see exactly
where they are within the large
construction site at all times and
supervisors can simultaneously
track the workers' locations. They
can use wayfinding to get to the
exact location within the building
to which they need to report.
The workers have the ability to
press a "panic button" if something were to go wrong. This feature alerts all construction workers
of the problem and location, and
gives the workers the ability to
instantly contact the local fire department, police department and
emergency medical technicians.
VERSATILITY OF BEACONS
The use of beacon convergence
technology to ensure safer construction and renovation sites is
merely one facet of the ongoing
revolution in the use of beacons.
According to Advertising Age, these
devices - which use low-energy
Bluetooth connections to communicate with smartphones and
tablets -numbered 13 million in
the last quarter of 2016, nearly
triple over the year before.
The Social Retail digital convergence platform developed by Digital Social Retail works seamlessly
with mobile screen messaging
triggered by BLE beacon connectors communicating with iOS and
Android devices running Bluetooth. The Social Retail platform,
combining the power of beacon
connector technology and DSR's
digital convergence platform, has
proven itself in a wide variety of
applications. Retail locations and
connectors is simple but precise.
They are identified on the Social
Retail platform and grouped
according to specific criteria zone
activity, transport, school, security,
etc. Connectors can be added to
cover new areas during operation
and thus integrate the network.
Thanks to a simple and intuitive
interface, the client defines and
schedules the messages they wish
to send as push notifications. The

shopping malls, college campuses, restaurants, sports arenas and
hospitals - as well as entire city
shopping districts - are being
outfitted with beacon connectors
and transforming how the public
interacts with their surroundings.
For example, the Social Retail
platform was used to "connect"
the Courchevel, France, ski resort.
The resort was thus able to deliver
specific information regarding
safety, weather and other topics to
the mobile phones of its residents
and tourists with an accuracy of
a few decimeters. Several dozen
Social Retail connectors were
positioned across the resort.
Social Retail connectors have
been installed at strategic locations
in urban centers. The choice of
connectors is defined according to
the client's strategy and technical
criteria, such as the frequency of
transmission, the conditions of
transmission of the signal or its
range. The configuration of the
parameterization. Each connector
sends a relevant signal according
to its location; the information
submitted is correlated with the
choices predefined by the user and
the notification is sent in real time
to the user in milliseconds.
If the user decides to open the
notification, they see targeted
information from the Social Retail
cloud. Simplicity of installation,
economy of deployment and
speed of commissioning are all
assets integrated into Social Retail.
In the construction business - as
in so many other spheres of modern life - we are entering a new
stage in the convergence between
the real and the virtual. Safer
renovation practices are just one
