R-CI owns land in more than 18 communities in Virginia and
runs a successful build-on-your-lot program. With more than 20
full-time employees, the company plans to do more than $40 million in business this year.
One of the company's high-profile projects is Lakeview at Luck
Farm. Construction will start this fall on 42 upscale homes on
roughly 265 acres of land. About 35 acres of ponds will be scattered throughout, surrounded by preservation areas. Starting at
$500,000, they will sport craftsman features with a lot of outdoor
living space. "We're seeing a trend in outdoor living space like
covered porches and patios with fire pits," Rogers says. The entire
project's targeted completion date is 2021.
R-CI also specializes in age-qualified 55-plus communities. These
generally feature one-story structures that resemble single-family
homes but are attached like townhomes. The homes have two-car
garages and all the master bedrooms are on the first floor. "We
have a wide variety of house styles and sizes," Rogers says.
One such community, Cherry Grove, is under development.
The four-year project that started this year will feature 130 homes.
