advancement is the construction of the
rear doors. Antiquated ply-metal doors
or wood-paneled overhead doors have
been replaced throughout the industry
with lighter weight composite doors.
Composite doors are not only lighter,
but also much more durable and resistant to weather, as they are constructed
of a high-density polyethylene core with
steel outer skins. Doors made of wood
or having a wood core begin to deteriorate immediately once the bare wood
has been exposed to the elements and
quickly need to be replaced.
Door holdbacks are small in size and
cost, and yet they can represent huge
savings in the reduction of rear door
damage. While the actual purpose of
a door holdback is to secure the door
when it's in the open position for loading
at the dock, many folks move trailers
around in their yards with the doors
