Join Together - Lancaster Chamber of Commerce & Industry - (Page 2) MISSION: To build Lancaster County into a model of prosperity for 21st Century America. Dear Chamber Member: The first thing you may note when reviewing this year’s Annual Report is that it stresses the future. And, make no mistake about it, that is by design. While we celebrate the many 2007 successes highlighted in this report, we also want to impress upon all our members, supporters and the community at large that The Chamber is looking to play a more impactful role in our community’s future and we seek both input and collaboration to do so. In many ways, 2007 was a transitional year for The Chamber. We continued our work in the areas of Member Services, Advocacy and Community Leadership under the stellar guidance of Board Chair Marion McGowan. At the same time we undertook serious study in planning for our future through the creation of a new Strategic Plan, shepherded through an all-inclusive process by Strategic Planning Committee Chair and Executive Committee Member Todd Lehman. The results are outlined in this Annual Report through both our recap of a successful past year and our emphasis on what lies ahead as we work to “live” our new Mission, Vision and commitment to partnerships and engagement. Please note that a complete copy of our Strategic Plan is available online at www.lancasterchamber.com. For 2008, The Chamber plans to capitalize on its rich 135-year history in Lancaster County by ensuring that the private sector continues to play a critical role in shaping the future of our community and creating a positive quality of life for all residents through the creation of wealth, the creation of jobs, and a spirit of community that makes Lancaster County unique. Thank you for being a member of The Lancaster Chamber of Commerce & Industry.
