According to employee, Lauren Bell, the frog has been passed around for years. “Anytime someone does a good job, they’re given a large ceramic frog filled with candy. When that person feels someone else did a great job, they fill the frog and pass it along to the next person. Everyone comes into their office to eat the candy but it’s just a way to let people know they’re doing a good job,” said Bell. Frogs aren’t the only way A.D. Marble recognizes employees. “Food seems to be the way to people’s hearts around here so we have a lot of ice cream socials and cook-offs and a few times a year we have a companysponsored happy hour,” said Bell. Twice a week Bell is in charge of firing up the company popcorn machine in the kitchen to encourage everyone to come and socialize. Bell believes the food fosters a sense of family within the organization. Click here to master the art of creating an employee incentive program and here to learn more about ESOPs.
