In 2008, The Chamber will seek the input and counsel of these organizations to create an overview of the strengths and services each organization brings to the community and develop a system for cooperation, feedback and accountability in meeting Lancaster County’s needs. business and community services they need and navigate the system. • Visualize a “Model of Prosperity.” To keep this network of community and business organizations focused on our common mission, a clear vision of a “Model of Prosperity” will be defined. The Chamber will call upon its expert leadership and partners to consider the many factors that indicate prosperity, from quality employment opportunities to better stewardship of environmental resources. • • Develop a pro-business and prosperity agenda for Lancaster County. Under the leadership of our Advocacy Council and our on-staff registered lobbyist, The Chamber will expand upon our probusiness agenda to identify issues that affect our community, and by association, the private sector, our workforce and our quality of life. By examining the “whole picture,” The Chamber is more effective in advocating for true reform on issues such as the state tax structure, transportation and infrastructure and health care reform. With enhanced partner relationships, we seek counsel of other expert organizations and, when appropriate, work together with these stakeholders to make our voice even stronger at the local, state and national levels. Lancaster Chamber representatives join colleagues from neighboring county chambers to advance our legislative agenda in Washington, D.C. The result of this integrated network will be less duplication of efforts, enhanced delivery of services and opportunities for increased synergy.
