Lancaster Chamber - Connections 2008 - (Page 32) innovate Going Green With growing concerns surrounding climate change and rising energy costs, the need for businesses and individuals to evaluate their carbon output and adopt practices that better protect our environment and its resources has never been more important. Starting with The Chamber’s work environment as a case study, The Chamber will promote green practices in the workplace. Reducing our carbon footprint is not, however, limited to workplace practices. The Chamber will support public policy that will provide financial incentives for companies that pursue ways to utilize alternative energy and conserve energy in their operations. We will share the most groundbreaking advancements by companies that are trailblazing green entrepreneurship – changing their business model or product offerings to meet the needs of a consumer market that is increasingly demanding corporate social responsibility in environmental stewardship. Sales representatives grow their skills at The Chamber’s Sales Academy. Innovation Circles Believing that great things can be accomplished when you bring together bright, focused individuals to achieve individual and collective goals, The Chamber is currently researching and developing a new member offering, Innovation Circles. These groups will convene individuals with common interests, goals or job functions to explore new approaches to challenges and maximize opportunities that exist both for the individual, and our collective business community as we build a Model of Prosperity for 21st Century America. 32 Connections | w w w . l c c i . c o m http://www.lcci.com
