Message to the Community
Rick Conley, Chair Leadership Lancaster Board of Directors I’d like to congratulate the 2011 class graduating from our CORE program. Our 28th class is ready to go forth and utilize the leadership skills they developed during the past 9 months. It has been so rewarding to work with these enthusiastic volunteers and see their progress as they hone their leadership skills. Our CORE program and the three other programs we offer are all directed to developing better leaders for our community— both in the industries where our alumni work as well as for the non-profits and community organizations where they volunteer. They may be asked to serve on boards or committees or just serve as needed helpers for projects or events, but in every case they contribute to the high quality of life we enjoy in Lancaster County. Their employers and sponsors also benefit from the skills they have developed and will now use to improve efficiency and competence in their workplace. While our programs continue to evolve, our mission remains constant. “Developing community leadership to support the needs of Lancaster County” will continue to direct our efforts. Let me also acknowledge those stakeholders who provide the resources for us to continue our mission. Whether it’s tuition for a program participant, sponsoring one or more events, recruiting our alumni for a board, volunteering as faculty for a program or being a participant and graduating from one or more of our programs; we need all of you, and we thank you. I assure you our dedication to returning value for your investment in unwavering. We will continue to strive to be the best investment of time and finances you can make to develop the leaders necessary for our future growth and prosperity and demonstrate that our connections are appreciated. It’s been my honor to serve on a board as energized and competent as ours is. Joining other dedicated and passionate leaders in planning and executing the development of future leadership is as rewarding as any work I have done; volunteer or professional. Our professional staff continues to make our job easier by refusing to allow any assignment to go undone. They accept and welcome all challenges and continuously strive to ensure all receive the very best training we can offer. They are the keystone of our success. We are all, volunteers and staff, dedicated to demonstrating servant leadership by our example. We need all our stakeholders to continue to make their contributions to the proud tradition of Leadership Lancaster and its role in this wonderful community.
