Louisiana Cultural Vistas - Spring 2006 - (Page 40) The building shown in this watercolor, Beauregard-Keyes House in 1865, painted in 1962 by Boyd Cruise, is known today for its association with Civil War general Pierre Beauregard and Frances Parkinson Keyes, a mid-20th century author. The houseʼs construction and early history are tied to New Orleansʼ St. Domingue community. The architect, Francois Correjolles was a St. Domingue émigré, as was his client, Joseph Le Carpentier. courtesy of The Historic New Orleans Collection 40 LOUISIANA ENDOWMENT FOR THE HUMANITIES\Spring 2006
