The first two sites for the spring and summer of 2006 will be at New Roads from June 30 – Aug. 10 at the Julien Poydras Museum, 500 W. Main St., (225) 638-3998; and at Natchitoches from Aug. 15 – Oct. 19 at the Old Courthouse Museum, 600 Second St., (318) 357-2270. “Key Ingredients” explores the connections between Americans and the foods they produce, prepare, preserve, and present at table — a look at the historical, regional and social traditions that merge in everyday meals and celebrations. It is the newest exhibition of “Museum on Main Street” program, a partnership of the Smithsonian Institution and state humanities councils in service to museums and citizens of rural America. For more information, please call the phone numbers noted for each museum or visit the national Key Ingredients website at www.keyingredients.org.
