It is a very good example of the loose broad brush manner of my work during this period. Lindy Boggs, 1987–88, egg tempera on masonite, 48 x 52 inches, [The Lindy Claiborne Boggs Center for Energy and Bio-technology, Tulane University, New Orleans, LA] In this work the flowers all have symbolic meaning. It is the largest of my egg tempera paintings. Since egg temperas are painted, for the most part, with small brushes, this work took a long time to complete. The painting was on commission for Tulane University, which holds three other portraits that I was commissioned to do. 17
