Over the course of its eleven-week run, Prospect.1 New Orleans will draw international media attention, creative energy, and new economic activity to the city. The Enduring Performance of Michael P. Smith by Jason Berry A retrospective essay of images by the late Michael P. Smith, a pioneering photographer who captured the essence of New Orleans’ African-American community. Winston Link in Louisiana by Winston Conway Link Decades before his photographs of America’s steam locomotives became famous, photographer O. Winston Link was an aspiring young photographer on assignment in Depression-era Louisiana. The Colfax Massacre by LeeAnna Keith, Ph.D. On Easter Sunday 1873, in the tiny hamlet of Colfax, Louisiana, more than 150 members of an all-black Republican militia, defending the town’s courthouse, were slain by an armed force of rampaging white supremacists. Unlocking the History of Greek Key Architecture by Jay D.
