Amidon Jr. is retiring this year, and self-professed “Amidonians” spanning the ﬁve decades he taught urban studies at Lehigh returned in the fall to celebrate a man whose devotion to his students lasted long after they graduated. In 1903, Lehigh was such a power in men’s lacrosse that one neighborhood boy even climbed a pole to catch a sneak peek.
