launched in 1990 and among 29 states with
full membership in the National Congress
of State Games, will kick off on July 29 this
year, on the campus of Liberty University
in Lynchburg.
The games, run by Virginia Amateur
Sports and with competitions ranging from
aquathon and archery to wing racing and
wrestling, hosted about 11,000 athletes in
2017, the highest level of participation in
the history of the games.
Most of the Olympic-style competitions will
take place over the July 27-29 weekend, with
others spread out over the summer months.
The games are open to competitors
of all ages and skill levels. For more
