Brogan Insurance is a second-generation family
business dedicated since 1983 to fine tuning
coverages and policies to meet the personal and
commercial needs of each client. Mary Brogan
Wilson has worked in the agency for almost 32
years and many of her clients are like family.
Serving others, especially their clients, is the heart
of the agency. Their mission to bring insurance
value to the individuals and businesses in their
community with comprehensive plans and
outstanding service is one that's appreciated
by their lifelong clientele.
Mary and her team of friendly agents understand
the importance of paying it back to their
community. They were awarded "The Roanoke
Giving Network Agency of the Year" by Erie
Insurance for outstanding community involvement
in 2013.
"We sell auto, home, business, life...all kinds of
insurance policies, but we believe knowledge is
the best policy," says Mary. "We try to educate
our clients. Insurance is so complex. We help
people create a plan to protect what's important
to them. As an independent agent, we represent
several carriers, which allows us to give our clients
lots of choices and competitive pricing options."
Mary is a supporter of the local Porsche Club,
and volunteers with Street Survival, a one-day
driving school to help teen drivers learn how to
handle their cars in emergency situations.
"It's a great way to spend the day," says Wilson.
"As a mother of three young drivers and an
insurance agent, I want to do what I can to help
our youth drive safely."
In 1996, Mary and her husband Marc brought a
firewood program to the valley. Project WARM
(Wood Association of Roanoke Metro) provides
free firewood to families in need. A collaboration
between The Salvation Army, the City of Salem
and Church of the Brethren volunteers, the
program has delivered over 5,000 truckloads
of free firewood in the Roanoke area.
