WILDLY POPULAR for Valentine's vacations, Fiddler's
Roost Bed & Breakfast Cabins sits just off the Blue
Ridge Parkway, near Virginia's Blue Ridge Music
Center.
"Couples, cabin, hot tub," says the owner, Tempe
Blaszyk. "The list goes on for what it is. It is a very
good place for couples to be."
Quiet, too.
"It's odd enough that people come up here in the
dead of winter because they like quiet," she says.
"They like that there are no birds."
Fiddler's Roost boasts eight cabins; seven are
restricted to adults only - with names like Owl's Nest,
Vintage View, Bear Run and Twin Oak. "They're all

says.
"Actually, what we get are a ton of outdoors people,
because we're only seven miles from the New
River Trail. And we get a lot of women's groups that
come up."
Inside, these cabins are consistently cozy. All year
long, Blaszyk keeps a tiny Christmas tree in a corner
- with lights. "It's terrible," she says, smiling. "I just
like them up all year long. I'm funny about it. I put
lights in, and there are people who love just having
that feeling when they get here."
About 10 honeymoon couples visited in October,
