Gregg is equally laidback, though
his job in statistical research has
earned him a laser-like attention
to detail.
Ask Leslie about her favorite
elements of the new home and
she'll point out the gray-blue color
scheme or how the pops of blue invoke tranquility and reflect the lazy
Shenandoah peeking through the
trees; ask Gregg the same question
and he'll point to the solidity of the
exposed wood beams, the openness
of the high ceilings and the home's
southern exposure.
Still, Leslie calls their decision to
build on Mission Ridge bittersweet.
The couple had met and fell in love
in their 40s, moving into a cozy
condo right on the water in Havre
de Grace, Maryland. They loved to
kayak, mountain bike and stand-up
paddleboard. They had friends and
family nearby. And the town was
just the right size to easily balance
urban cultural opportunities with
rural outdoor recreation.
Leslie Fossett-Fox's love of water can be seen in her color choices - pops of blue, watery aquas.
But, "The commute was killing
Gregg," Leslie says.
"It was 80 miles to where I
worked in Rockville," Gregg says.
"I was spending four or more
hours a day in the car just going
back and forth. I would get home
every night and basically eat, sit
in the TV room and fall asleep on
the couch."

leap and started looking for a new
property. They stumbled across the
