(Jan/Feb 2016) Moonbow of Cumberland Falls, Kentucky (contributed by Joe Tennis) One of the only visible moonbows in the world is located in Cumberland Falls, Kentucky. At around 10 p.m. under a full moon, the light casts a beautiful moonbow that arcs downstream. The parking lots fill with spectators who have come to see this romantic natural wonder. Although this is a popular destination during the day, this waterfall is most admired during a full moon. In this cave, a large lake of clear water was also found and explored by rowboat. Twenty years later a man named Charles P. Weller leased the cave and turned it into a unique underground venue with boat rides, tours and dances. It was known as Lakeland Caverns and admission was just 50 cents. Although it is sealed off as of now, there has been talk of reopening it in the near future.
