LIFELONG MEMORIES

CELEBRATING CULTURE

Sydney Myers and Adrian Solomon first
met at a cooking class Adrian hosted at his
apartment, exchanging phone numbers at
the end of the evening.
While touring Italy and France a year
later on a drive up a mountain, Adrian asked
Sydney to walk along a path that overlooked
the sea. Unbeknownst to Sydney, Adrian had
set up a camera on the opposite side of the
road. Sydney went to pose for the photo,
turning around to find Adrian on one knee
with a diamond in hand. The only catch? The
camera ran out of memory! Luckily, their
memories will always recall the beautiful
moment together.

Their chosen theme of aviation and travel
included mint and coral colors. The couple
believes the diverse culture of the families,
food and location made for a unique day.
As they love downtown Roanoke, they
celebrated their marriage at the Taubman
Museum of Art, a structure they believe to
be one of the most architecturally unique
buildings in the city. Sydney made an entrance as she walked down the beautifully
lit staircase, and their ceremony took place
in the main atrium.
They also wanted several genres of cuisine,
such as Italian and Mexican. Food stations
included a pasta bar, taco bar and steakhouse

station, while the caterer also provided
"lumpia" for appetizers, a well-known food in
Filipino culture. The reception area showcased
tall centerpieces against the mint linens and
coral shades in the lighting.
ROANOKE LOVE

While Sydney's favorite memory of the day
is dancing with all of her closest friends
and family on the dance floor, Adrian loved
surprising Sydney with a live performance.
In front of his new wife and all their guests,
he picked up his guitar and sang "Wagon
Wheel" to her-another great wink to their
love of Roanoke with the reference to the
city in the lyrics!
