The Wellness and Recovery Gym offers medical-grade cardiovascular and strengthening equipment with advanced cardiac telemetry monitoring systems, where highly skilled medical professionals monitor your exercise progress and provide periodic reports to your physician. HALIFAX REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER The first hospital opened in Roanoke Rapids, NC, in 1912. In 1972 a 151-bed public hospital was constructed. Since 1972, Halifax Regional has undergone four major expansion projects. In 1975, another floor was added which brought the Medical Center’s licensed-bed capacity to 190.
