How do I decide on a cabinet designer
for my home projects? It is important for
you to talk to a couple different companies to
gather information and decide on who you feel
most comfortable with. It is important for a
designer to come to your home, get a feel for
your lifestyle, listen to your wants and needs,
as well as measure. At Cabinetry with TLC we
choose to do FREE estimates and educate our
clients on all available products with their pros
and cons. Call us today.

I want to install a wood floor in my basement. What are my options?
There are wood floors that can be glued down to
a concrete slab. The only drawback to these products is they are susceptible to excessive moisture.
A recent alternative to this is the introduction of
a water proof floor that is a synthetic version of
wood. The look of these products are attractive
and the pricing is in line with wood.

How can I lighten a dark space? This is one
of our most common client needs. Often a room
can feel heavy due to dark walls, hard finishes, and
heavy rugs and upholstery. The first step would be
to select a light paint color and assess if the lighting
needs to be adjusted or switched out with airier
fixtures. Finally replacing heavy or muddy toned
upholstery and rugs with lighter tones can create
a more open, bright feel to your space.

Myth: Sellers should expect to earn back
everything they invested in remodeling
projects at resale time. Not exactly...A
quick check of the annual "Cost vs. Value" survey
(realtormag.realtor.org/home-and-design/cost-vsvalue) will demonstrate to sellers that it's nearly
impossible to get 100% return on dollars spent
on a redo when they sell their home. A siding
replacement of fiber-cement brought the highest
return in the most recent survey in the upscale
project category - 84.3%. For a midrange project,
the highest return is a steel replacement entrance
door at 96.6%. Bathrooms, kitchens, decks netted a lesser return but all add to marketability. For

What are the health benefits of hot tub
use? Several health benefits associated with hot
tub use include stimulating the release of endorphins (the body's own pain reliever); easing of pain
from tension headaches; allowing connective tissue
(tendons and ligaments) to be more flexible; and
relieving pressure on joints, muscles, and nerves
(buoyancy factor). Additional studies indicate hot
tub usage may be helpful in treating heart disease,
arthritis, diabetes, lower back and knee pain, as
well as sleep disorders.

If my cooling system isn't cooling correctly, what can I check before I call
someone? First, make sure doors and windows
are closed to keep cold air in. Second, make sure
your vents aren't blocked. Third, check the cooling
unit itself: if it's not running, reset the circuit; if it
is running, change the filter.

Will the new HE Washers clean your
clothes and are they built to last? No, in
today's market we recommend Speed Queen. It
fills completely with water, has full size agitator,
a lid that doesn't lock, offers a 5 year parts and
labor warranty, and built to last 25 years. It will
clean your clothes!
