Gynn bout 95 percent of Training Magazine’s print readers reside in the United States. In the next few years, that percentage should drop for the magazine’s overall readership. At least that’s the plan led by Training publisher and group show director, Joyceann Cooney-Garippa. “I launched the digital edition with a vision,” she says. “This would be the beginning of our move globally.” Growing an international audience significantly with the print version isn’t as feasible, Cooney-Garippa says. She points to the cost of paper and postage compounded by the lengthy time the magazine takes to travel from the mailhouse to the desk of a non-U.S. reader. “Everything is old news,” she says. Training Magazine subscribers already have global interests. Readers from companies such as PriceWaterhouse Coopers, Deloitte & Touche, and Ernst & Young already are operating globally. If one person in the United States reads a relevant article, that reader will send to others within the company. “The pass-along rate is pretty high,” Cooney-Garippa says. SUMMER 2008 LINKED
