Lancaster Road Runners Club - March/April 2008 - (Page 5) LRRC Club House Update Following the inferences printed in the club’s last newsletter alluding to possible missing funds, an audit was conducted of the club finances by the incoming treasurer, club historian, and a former treasurer from years past. After carefully scrutinizing the books, records, logs, bank accounts, and other documentation, it was found that a bizarre clerical error had occurred concerning a recent donation of money to the club. Although a donation had been made by a recently deceased member, the amount was only $5.00 and not the $500,000 first thought. It appears that when the amount was entered the “0” key stuck for a brief moment creating multiple zeros. At the same time, the decimal point (period key) failed to function since the “0” key was firing, resulting in the incorrect entry. The problem entry apparently went unnoticed until the audit was performed. At the conclusion of the audit there was indeed a $5.00 surplus discovered, which was properly posted into the checking account. As a side note; the executive board recently received several frantic requests from Dog Chapman begging for bail and bribe money to extricate him from a Bolivian jail. As this newsletter goes to print, these requests have gone unanswered. Brickerville Rave Run Feb. 8, 2008 On Thursday evening, February 7, Club members Bob, Aimee, Bill, Harry, Ed, Fred and Evan tackled the Horseshoe Trail The dark-time run headed out toward the radio tower, then down several side trails heading back to Rt. 322. The crew cris-crossed the powerline and creek making their way east. Run ended with a typical part II. Frozen Foot Photo Gallery Race #2, Feb. 12, 2008 Late Breaking Race Results Seven local runners from The Lancaster Road Runners Club ran the 8 Tuff Miles Race in St.Johns, U.S. Virgin Islands on Saturday, February 23. Reported Results: • Steve Farrah 1:11:00 3rd age group • Ed Stauffer 1:15:16 • Heide Mobius 1:21:00 1st age group • Peter Belanger 1:23:04 • Lois Summers 1:37:40 4th age • Janet Foster 1:48:53 • Greg Foster 1:56:08 On February 24, Diana Widdowson set a course record of 2:47:00 placing 9th overall at the Hashawka Hills 50km Trail Run. Course was trails with snow, ice and mud. Congratulations to all! Finally, the publisher misplaced the list of award recipients from this year’s club banquet. Those results will be featured in the next newsletter.
