Louisiana TIMED Program Annual Report 2007-2008

Earhart Boulevard In the heart of the New Orleans metro area lies the 2.8-mile long Earhart Boulevard TIMED Project. The boulevard is located just inside the Orleans Parish line and is a busy rush-hour route from Jefferson Parish to the Central Business District of New Orleans. It also serves as a critical hurricane evacuation route. Lined with homes and small businesses, the TIMED funded portion of Earhart Boulevard is divided into ﬁve segments that will be widened to four lanes. The $20 million project is 91 percent complete. The ﬁnal segment, a 0.9-mile long section from Hamilton to Fern, is scheduled to be let in late 2009. The segment is currently in the right-of-way acquisition and relocation phase.
