Louisiana TIMED Program Annual Report 2007-2008

U.S. 165 The 173-mile long U.S. 165 project is being widened to a fourlane highway. The project will create an expanded link between I-10 and I-20. The project stretches from Lake Charles to Bastrop, and it includes a segment of U.S. 425 from Bastrop to the Arkansas State Line. The corridor is divided into 30 segments -- 17 segments are complete and 12 segments are under construction. The remaining segment, a 1.4-mile long stretch from the Red River Bridge at Fort Buhlow, consists of several construction contracts. The only contract containing TIMED funds is scheduled to be let in 2010. Construction on the U.S. 165 corridor is 76 percent complete. FY 2007/2008 saw the completion of four segments, a total of 22 miles of widened roadway. 80.2 miles of construction are complete on the U.S. 165 corridor. Widening of the entire corridor is scheduled for completion in early 2010.
