Super Se- RE GIO NAL ROU N D U P NEVADA IS QUICKLY BECOMING A SECOND HOME FOR EDDIE GRAHAM OF Centerville, Ohio. In December, Graham won the PBA Regional Players Invitational at the National Bowling Stadium in Reno. As a result of that triumph, he returned to Nevada — the southern portion — in late January to compete in the H&R Block Tournament of Champions at Red Rock Lanes in Las Vegas. In the RPI, Graham finished the 18-game qualifying round in eighth place, then went 9-4 in match play to secure the $10,000 title and T of C berth. Interestingly, among his nine match-play victories were five games under 200 — including his 180-162 title match win over Vince Wood. Mark Williams and John May rounded out the top four. Elsewhere around the regions TRI-REGION: The day after the RPC concluded, 150 Regional players and 46 Senior Regional pros filled the Stadium for the Tri-Region Sands Regency Open and Senior Open. Five-time PBA champion Eric Forkel captured the $3,000 first prize in the main event as he defeated Jeff Frankos in the championship match, 201-184. Andrew Cain finished third, and guest player Brett Wolfe returned to the scene of his nior Ross Packard notched his 34th career Regional title — a record for the West Region — in the companion Senior event, good for $1,500. Packard ran away from guest player Terry Leong in the title match, 239-181. Wayne Webb, who finished sixth in the RPI, opted to bowl in the Senior Regional and came in seventh. SOUTH: Jason Sterner topped a 103-bowler field at Surfside Lanes to win the Surfside Beach (S.C.) Open. Sterner collected $3,000 for his 227-196 triumph over Randy Weiss. CENTRAL: Seventy-five players turned out for a nonchampions' event at Cedar Lanes in Sandusky, Ohio, and Jimmy Levendosky is title-less no longer. Levendosky held off Brandon Harris in the championship match, 213-202, and earned $2,000. SENIORS: Three weeks after winning the RPI, Eddie Graham teamed with Bob Kelly to finish second in the South Region's Senior/Regular Doubles at Wayne Lanes in Waynesboro, Va. Graham and Kelly got to the title match, but then lost the best-of-three match in two games to Sam Maccarone and Charles Anderson, 473-465 and 453-396. Maccarone and Anderson split $3,000. In the South Region's Senior Ft. Belvoir (Va.) Open at Ft. Belvoir Lanes, Pete Bryan bagged the $1,500 first prize with a 196-191 victory over Michael Henry.
