They make sure that they keep certain key numbers within reasonable target ranges. Solid numbers are a mandatory part of the foundation of a successful shop, regardless of its size. One can be the best shop around in almost every way, but if the numbers are not right, the shop will normally struggle and often eventually close. Shop owners who want to be consistently profitable must know what the numbers are, learn how to achieve them and then follow through with plans to do so.
