Tucson’s Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum—a zoo, botanical garden and natural history museum combo—has up-close live-animal presentations, including flying hawks, a lazing Gila monster and a scurrying skunk. The Flandrau Science Center at The University of Arizona in Tucson houses a planetarium, a telescope and interactive exhibits that showcase different sciences. Families can go on a mock shuttle mission at the Challenger Space Center in Peoria, as well as look through telescopes and attend planetarium programs. Arizona museums know how to make art fun for kids to explore.
