Southwestern Indian jewelry
has long captured the hearts
of collectors, and visitors can
gain their own appreciation
for this unique art form by visiting tribal museums and galleries. Explore the Hopi Arts
Trail outside Tuba City, visit a
trading post on the Navajo Nation or visit gift shops in other
tribal communities to see and
purchase wonderful pieces.

While on Hopi tribal lands, see
Katsina doll carvers in action.
The dolls-which aren't really
dolls, but teaching tools-are
among the most sought-after
art forms in Native Arizona.

Montezuma Castle National Monument, located close to the YavapaiApache Nation in the Verde Valley, is the site of a 12th-century Sinaguan
high-rise dwelling sited on a cliff face. Nearby is Montezuma Well, the place
of the Yavapai people's emergence into our world, according to their creation stories.

Check out the Pascua Yaqui's
AVA Amphitheater in Tucson
for some of the state's best live
entertainment. The largest outdoor music venue on Arizona
tribal lands, the 5,000-seat AVA
features music acts ranging from
hard rock to country and Latin
to pop. Other tribal casinos have
theaters with live acts, including the Mazatzal Hotel & Casino
in the Tonto Apache community
just outside Payson.

Bring your Jet Ski-or rent
one-and cool off in the Colorado River. Avi Casino Resort
in Fort Mojave offers rentals
for on-water fun. BlueWater
Resort & Casino, on the lands
of the Colorado River Indian
Tribes, has a dock where you
can park your water toys, or
try your water-walking skills
out at Wakeboard Island,
a skate park-like waterway
for wakeboarding.

Explore nature's bounty in tribal
lands. Enjoy cool riparian parks in
the Colorado River Indian Tribes'
community or in Yuma, home to
the Quechan Tribe. Hunt for elk,
deer, bighorn sheep and other big
game on Hualapai, San Carlos,
Kaibab Paiute or White Mountain
Apache lands.
