Historic Inns of Palm Springs - (Page 15) he Andalusian Court was developed over 20 years in the historic Tennis Club district. Two of its four buildings were constructed in the early 1920s with hollow clay tile bricks. The third building was added in the ’30s, with the last structure and swimming pool installed in the early ’40s. The Sinclair family purchased the property in the late ’40s as their home, renting much of the extra space to long-term tenants as a seasonal hotel called El Poco Lodge. Lucy and Desi Arnaz often came to stay, and Little Ricky is said to have taken his earliest steps on the porch of what is now Villa 4 at The Andalusian Court. The Sinclairs hosted other celebrities, including Victor Mature and Vic Morrow. Renovation of the property began in July 2000. The new name comes from the community of Andalusia, near Seville, Spain, which bespeaks the hotel’s décor. Their commitment earned a Gold Nugget Award of Merit at the 2002 Pacific Construction Builders Conference. Today, guests enjoy one of seven luxuriously appointed villas with Spanish-style furnishings and fireplaces. The bathrooms feature oversize tubs and showers; stone, marble, and slate tiling; and stained glass windows. Other amenities include private courtyards with garden whirlpool spas and dramatic mountain views. 11 W. Arenas Road S. Cahuilla Road S. Belardo Road S. Lugo Road 458 W.
