This luxury boutique hotel evokes 1940s glamour with a contemporary twist, thanks to the design services of Martyn Lawrence-Bullard, recently named Architectural Digest’s top 100 designers in the world. The hotel blends the magnificent original Spanish Colonial architecture with worldwide influences such as Uzbekistani tapestries and vintage French tiles. Each of the 56 guest rooms, including casitas with private outdoor Jacuzzi bathtubs, feature fine Italian linens, signature oversized showers, high definition TVs, On-Demand movies, and wireless high-speed Internet. The hotel also has a full service Moroccan-themed Spa. Located in the heart of Palm Springs, the hotel was built in 1936 by Purple Gang Mobster Al Wertheimer. It quickly became the town’s most popular locale, primarily as a speakeasy and casino.
