ROBERT GARCIA MUSIC & DANCE A showcase for rising stars, Arizona Opera has exciting productions planned for the upcoming season, including Don Giovanni and Tosca. Ballet Arizona, under the direction of Ib Andersen, formerly with the Royal Ballet of Denmark, will present Romeo and Juliet and The Nutcracker as part of this season’s repertoire. ROBERT GARCIA Symphony Hall A magnet for contemporary music stars, Celebrity Theatre features a revolving stage, meaning every seat is close to the action. Presenting concerts and Broadway musicals, the Dodge Theatre provides artists and audiences the latest in technology. Recently renovated, Symphony Hall is home to the Phoenix Symphony, which offers a full range of classic programs and special holiday events. a $50-million renovation in 2006—showcases 20th century Western and European masterpieces. For a completely different vibe, there’s Roosevelt Row, a pedestrian-friendly district favored by local artists and thespians. BILL BAKER THEATER The Herberger Theater showcases the Arizona Theatre Company, Actors Theatre of Phoenix and Center Dance Ensemble. The Herberger’s complex is also home to the iTheatre Collaborative,Valley Youth Theatre, Theater League and Stageworks. The beautifully restored Orpheum Theatre, an architectural jewel that is on the National Register of Historic Places, plays host to national productions and musical acts.
