(800) 916-0092 ALL-STAR HISTORY Louis’ rich baseball history includes such storied franchises as the St. Louis Browns, Cardinals and the Negro Leagues’ St. Louis Stars. The 2009 MLB All-Star Game will be the fifth one held in St. Louis and Busch Stadium will be the fourth venue to host the Mid-Summer Classic. In 1940 and 48, the games were played at St. Sportsman’s Park. The 1957 match-up was played at the same location; however, the venue name had changed to Busch Stadium. In 1966, the All-Star Game took place in (new) Busch Memorial Stadium during its inaugural year. Confused yet? Wait—it gets better.
