A BRIGHT START FOR THE NEW YEAR

W

elcome to CES 2016! I'm
thrilled to be part of such
a dynamic industry. CES
shows us the promise of the future with
consumer technologies that continue to
improve global lives in unexpected ways.
At CES you can see groundbreaking
technologies like autonomous vehicles, robotics, 3D printing,
digital health and fitness devices, biometrics and drones that are
transforming the world.
We take a forward look at some of these technologies with stories
on artificial intelligence, virtual reality, gaming, 4D printing, futurists
talking car tech, silver nanowire technology, smart cities and robotics.
And because CES is all about entrepreneurs with a great idea, we
profile some creative startups with a clever business plan including
the four winners of the Innovation Entrepreneur Awards. See what
made them stand-out from the crowd. We also have an interesting
discussion with Volkswagen AG's head Dr. Herbert Diess who is
launching a new concept electric car at CES and will also keynote.
On the policy side, Michael Petricone explains the tech issues that
will be important for Congress to address in 2016 that impact American jobs and innovation. And for drone-related businesses and startups in the U.S. to stay competitive we
need regulatory and non-regulatory
solutions that support both safety
and innovation. Read about CTA's
"Know Before You Fly" campaign
and other work to ensure innovation flourishes. And at CES, Federal
Trade Commission Chairwoman
Edith Ramirez and Federal Communications Commission Chairman Tom Wheeler will participate in a
SuperSession with CTA's President and CEO Gary Shapiro.
Read our exclusive coverage of CES Unveiled Las Vegas the
hub for more than 1,200 media, the CES 2016 Innovation
Awards and our profiles of the CMOs of tomorrow to coincide
with C Space at ARIA. This section includes interviews with
executives from AppNexus, the Association of National Advertisers, Facebook, Foundation Capital, Google, GroupM Global,
Rubicon Project and Spotify. And find out where Dr. Shawn
DuBravac believes the economy is heading in the New Year.
But most of all enjoy CES and the opportunities that come on
the show floor when you make an unexpected business connection. Please send comments on what you would like to read to:
