Eezecube

A
central entertainment hub
and home cloud for the
entire family, Eezecube is
the first expandable smart
media center. Users can
safely store their photos,
movies, music and TV
shows in one location and
access them from every
smart device in the home,
as well as the TV. All media
content is available wirelessly on up to six devices,
simultaneously. "If you
have a lot of photos or videos, our app automatically
backs it up onto the Eezecube and organizes it for
you," said Ashok Jaiswal,
founder of Eezecube.

Phillipines-based NTEKSystems
brought their DoorTalk app to CES. The DoorTalk app, combined with
the DoorTalk access control device, lets you view, monitor and manage
your home or office's entry points through your mobile device. NTEKSystem's Ian Jerome Gollaba said, "The good thing about our device
is we utilize two-way communication. Unlike other brands where only
the device can initiate the call, with DoorTalk, you can actually call the
device directly from the
app. So if I'm at the office, I
can check what is happening at the front door any
time." Another differentiator
for DoorTalk is the inclusion
of Session Initiation Protocol
(SIP) support. "By supporting SIP, we give our device
a certain number for calling
and expand the range of
the smart devices that can
be connected to DoorTalk.
Any device that can dial a
number and is IP-based can
call the DoorTalk device,"
explained Gollaba.

Skreens has created a media platform to
allow users to blend their media devices
together on one screen and include additional information from the Internet. "Suppose you want to be able to blend your
cable box to your gaming console, to your
Roku device, to your other USB video sticks,"
says Marc Clement of Skreens. "Skreens will
take the data and the devices that connect
to the Skreens unit, and will then output
to the screen." The resulting composite
image-which includes video feeds from
multiple inputs-can then be manipulated
and resized. "Then you can complement
that information by opening a webpage-an
ESPN ticker, for example, or some additional
information that enriches the user's experience." The company initially focused on the
video game streaming market. "Video game
streamers have the ability to create the
composite image, to audio mix the content
and to have a dedicated H.264 encoder,
which allows the user to stream to Twitch or
YouTube," said Clement.
The company's Kickstarter reached its
goal of $25,000 within 25 minutes, raised
$100,000 in just 24 hours and became a
Kickstarter staff pick. Skreens plans to ship to
backers in March. Skreens and the Skreens
Plus4 Pro Screen Combiner were selected for
the Innovation and Design Awards at CES.
