AI
A strong focus on artificial intelligence (AI) showed
how data analytics, speech recognition and predictive
tech are now integrated into almost every marketplace and category at CES. The power of data was
demonstrated at the Intel keynote as the company
used AI to create music and set the new Guinness
World Record for flying 110 mini drones indoors. Being
a key ingredient to technologies of the future, exhibitors like Baidu, IBM, iFLYTEK and Yamaha Motors
showcased technologies ranging from self-driving
cars to robots to digital assistants. The AI conference
track explored how this technology will change consumer's lives in the coming years and how companies
are investing in AI research and development.

LOOKING
AHEAD:
CES ASIA
2018
CES Asia returns to Shanghai
June 13-15, 2018 for a fourth show.
Owned and produced by CES and
co-produced by Shanghai Intex,
CES Asia showcases major brands
and innovative companies across
the full ecosystem of the technology industry. As one of the fastest
growing technology trade shows in
the Asian market, companies come
to CES Asia to launch products and
create cross-market partnerships.
More than 500 companies across
20 product categories are expected
to attend CES Asia 2018.

AR/VR
Another big trend at CES 2018 was augmented reality
(AR) and virtual reality (VR) expanding into all industries, as showcased by exhibitors like Carl Zeiss,
Kodak, NVIDIA, Royole and Sony. AR technologies
were seen at CES solving everything from educational to retail needs. VR highlighted use cases in
agriculture, manufacturing and business. As such,
these applications allowed CES 2018 to attract major
global brands from varied industries. From the products seen on the show floor, consumers can expect
different ways to experience the virtual world from
updated headsets to eyewear.

SPORTS TECH
Advancements in athlete-enhancing smart products,
smart venues and next-gen sponsorships were a hot
topic at CES 2018, changing not only how sports are
played, but also how fans experience sporting events.
Turner Broadcasting and Sports Innovation Lab presented conference programming that explored these
tech advances. In "Evolving the Content Ecosystem,"
a panel of the world's top sport leagues and content
producers discussed new methods to deliver content
to fans in more creative and engaging ways. Like
other emerging technologies, the future of sports
tech is reliant on data to best provide new experiences for fans and players.

ON THE IMPACT OF 5G:

"Everything is going to be
wireless, not just mobile but
basically everything, including
mission critical services."
