MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIRMAN

A CARING COMMUNITY
As chairman of The Upper
Chesapeake Health Foundation, I am grateful for all of
those who have had a hand
in helping advance health
care in Harford County.
Through my volunteerism
with University of Maryland
Upper Chesapeake Health
(UM UCH) and as a longtime resident, I have seen
firsthand the countless changes that our community has gone through over the years. The changes
in health care, many of which have been brought
about by the generosity of our neighbors, allow
UM UCH the added resources to offer our community the very best health care, close to home.
I have confirmed some things about our philanthropic community that I have always thought, but
now know. First, that we are all connected, from the
schools our kids attend to the places we work, worship and play. Second, that we have a very generous
community that consistently shows up to help its
neighbors. Personally, it has been my home most
of my life and a wonderful place to put down roots.
I am amazed at how many of our fundraising
goals were surpassed this year, but maybe
I shouldn't be. Gratitude, love and generosity
are the hallmarks of a great community, and we
have those in abundance. I encourage all our
neighbors to learn more, get involved and support
the community health care mission of UM UCH.
