helped Amy Schumer become the

mother-daughter comedy Snatched.
Comedy is a coping device, for both
Schumer and her dad, who now lives
in an assisted living facility.
"It's the most painful thing in the
world to just watch this person that you
love ultimately just digress and kind
of decompose," she told NPR's Morning
Edition. "And it's too heavy. And you
have to find a way to laugh at it."

Gordon Schumer was diagnosed
with multiple sclerosis when she was
just 12, and the onset of the neurological disease changed the course of
the young Schumer's life. But it also
