In addition to the Life, Disability, Professional Liability and Long-Term Care Insurance described in the previous sections of this benefit review package, there are many other IEEE-sponsored plans to meet your specific needs. Other Medical Insurance Options L AG5532 L Group Catastrophe Major Medical Insurance RxAmerica Prescription Plan Today the cost of a serious non-job-related injury or sickness may be far beyond the benefits provided by the average hospitalization or major medical insurance policy. Any basic major medical or hospitalization insurance policy you may be insured through right now—including Medicare—could still leave you with high bills to pay especially if you are confined to a convalescent home for convalescent or custodial care. The IEEE Group Catastrophe Major Medical Plan provides up to $2 million of coverage to complement or enhance your basic health insurance plan at a surprisingly economical cost. The Plan offers a choice of deductibles and provides benefits up to five full years from the date your first eligible expense is incurred. New York residents may call to learn about a separate New York Plan. Plan includes costs, exclusions, limitations and terms of coverage. The Program is simple to use. Once you receive your RxAmerica identification card, just present it to a participating pharmacy. You could save up to 20% over the retail cost of prescription drugs perhaps as much as 50% by the use of generic drugs. RxAmerica’s computer compares the retail price or “sale price” charged by the pharmacy with the IEEE discounted price, and you are charged the lower of the two. You will experience a savings approximately 90% of the time. You can then submit your receipts to your insurance carrier for reimbursement, if the plan allows. The Plan also provides a special feature if you are taking a maintenance drug. You can fill up to a 90-day supply of medication through RxAmerica’s state-of-the-art facility. Their computer network screens your medications for potential drug interactions and allergic reactions.
