Course Information Course Content: Regardless of the etiologies of a patient’s obesity, healthcare providers best serve the larger, heavier patient when they understand the patient’s complex clinical needs. This educational program is based on a case-study text book, “The Challenges of Caring for the Obese Patient,” and is designed to teach, through independent study, multidisciplinary clinicians a humanistic approach to treating obese patients through education on relevant topics such as fitness, critical care, sensitivity, weight loss surgery, childhood obesity, change therapy, outcomes, skin injury, ethics, and pain management. Completion Time: This educational program is divided into 3 modules: Chapters 1–6 (module 1); Chapters 7–12 (module 2); and Chapters 13–18 (module 3).
