Synopsis: Authors conducted a review and meta-analysis of prospective studies that evaluated the effects of either central nervous system drugs (n=7) or classic drugs (prokinetic and antisecretory drugs; n=11) for the treatment of pain in functional dyspepsia. Based on the results, they conclude that both central nervous system drugs and classic drugs are associated with a significant pain reduction in functional dyspepsia.
