Central Carolina HEALTH - Winter 2012 - (Page 2)

FROM THE CEO Our ER Is Faster Than Ever hen you have an emergency, being seen quickly is important. At Central Carolina Hospital, our average door-to-doctor ER wait time is less than 30 minutes. For your convenience, we have an ER wait time clock on our website (CentralCarolinaHospital.com), which displays the average time for the past 2 hours, updating every 5 minutes. While we’ve worked hard to keep your wait to a minimum, sometimes our ER is treating several higher acuity patients at once, such as those with chest pain or those brought in by ambulance. This can impact the time it takes for less emergent patients to be seen. That’s where our new free service called InQuicker can help. When you need emergency care but your symptoms are not severe enough to require immediate attention, InQuicker allows you to wait in the comfort of your own home. By visiting www.MyCCH.com and selecting your projected treatment time, you can plan your trip to the ER without rushing or waiting at the hospital. While it sounds a bit unusual to “schedule” an ER visit, it’s a convenient way for you to hold your place online if you are arranging for a sitter, are picking up an elderly parent, are waiting until after work to come in, or have a 30-minute drive or longer to the hospital. Using InQuicker, you should be seen by a healthcare professional within 15 minutes of your designated treatment time. If the ER gets busy wherein your projected treatment time could be delayed, you will be notified by text message, email or phone so you can adjust your schedule. Remember, this service is for minor emergencies only. Whether you choose to drive directly to the ER because of our short wait time or hold your place online through the InQuicker service, you can feel confident that at CCH, we understand how valuable your time is. We are determined to become your hospital. If you would like to share your thoughts with us, we invite you to call our Public Relations Department at (919) 774-2194, email us at CentralCarolinaHospital@gmail.com, or connect with us on Facebook. Sincerely, W Doug Doris, CEO Central Carolina Hospital 2 | WINTER 2012 http://www.CentralCarolinaHospital.com http://www.MyCCH.com
