PARTNERS IN DISCOVERY
REDICT (Personal REsponse
Determinants In Cancer Therapy)
offers cancer patients the opportunity to participate directly in
global research by contributing information, blood and tissue samples that enable
groundbreaking studies to occur. This innovative first-in-Canada research program
was launched at the BC Cancer Agency
Vancouver Island Centre in Victoria in
2006 and expanded to the Sindi Ahluwalia
Hawkins Centre for the Southern Interior in
Kelowna in 2013.
Evidence from PREDICT will allow
researchers to understand cancer better,
from diagnosis to treatment and how cancer behaves differently in different people.
With these key questions answered, clinicians will be able to make improvements to
the treatment and care of patients in B.C.
