Giving Well - Summer 2014 - (Page 2)
New Vision,
Same Great Care
Dear Friends,
This is a pivotal time for Erlanger Health
System as we begin to embrace a bold,
new vision for the future of healthcare in
our region. Plans for enhanced facilities
and services throughout the system will
continue to focus on quality care while
providing our community additional
services in a newer, healing environment.
This is also an opportunity to look back
and recognize some of the wonderful supporters who have
given time, talent and financial assistance. In this issue of
Giving Well, we would like to highlight just a few of those
who have helped us continue our mission of advancing
excellence in healthcare by fostering the involvement of
philanthropic partners.
We would also like to remember a very special friend
and staunch supporter of the foundation, Gordon Street
Jr. Gordon served as chair of the Erlanger Health System
Foundations board until his untimely death this past March.
He will be remembered as a good, kind and thoughtful
man with a generous spirit. We will miss his wisdom
and guidance.

Remembering Gordon Street Jr.
One of our most dedicated advocates passed away recently. Gordon
Street Jr., chair of the Erlanger Health System Foundations board, died
March 14. Gordon served two terms on our board and was a tireless
advocate for the advancement of healthcare in the Chattanooga area.
He was a principled and committed leader who spent most of his life
helping numerous philanthropic causes. We have been blessed that
Erlanger Hospital was one of them.
His leadership and enthusiasm will be greatly missed. Once, when
asked why he made a generous gift, he said, "I just wanted to leave
the world better than I found it." Because of his generous spirit and
caring nature he has left the Erlanger Health System a better place.
Thank you, Gordon!
