Giving Back, Feeling Blessed Auxiliary president shares her reasons for giving I volunteer at Erlanger because it has such a long history of helping our community-rich, poor or in between. Erlanger has been, and is, the premier health facility not only in our community but in surrounding communities as well. The Auxiliary is important to me because it allows many different individuals with various talents a way to unite and be an effective force for others and for Erlanger. It gives people the opportunity to give of themselves and at the same time to receive the satisfaction of knowing they make a difference-with the added bonus of making lifelong friends. community by training doctors and nurses who, in turn, take their knowledge around the country and around the world. It is important for me to give back because I have been so blessed to have others help me when I needed it. I can remember how I felt in times of need, whether financial, physical or emotional. The smile, the kind words, the love that was shown to me lifted me up. Sometimes I see the same look in someone else in need, and know I have been where they are-so I smile or try to talk with them so they know they are not alone. We are all in life together. It is the place where you know everything that needs to be done is being done. Erlanger gives back to the Auxiliary President Marilyn Vincent Care Like No Other I came to Chattanooga in 1964 and have seen the remarkable changes at Erlanger. I have experienced the care at Erlanger from the birth of my five sons to my granddaughter being treated for a brain tumor to my husband being airlifted to Erlanger following an accident.
