Founded in 1949 by the sisters of St. Joseph of the Third Order of St. Francis, Marymount stands as a vibrant example of the life-giving partnership between the Sisters, Cleveland Clinic and the community. As the only Catholic hospital among the Cleveland Clinic regional hospitals, Marymount is committed to its mission “to provide excellent health care guided by the Christian values of service, compassion, dignity and respect.” The physicians and staff at our 322-bed hospital provide patient-centered care in numerous specialties, including: behavioral health, cancer care, cardiology services, diabetes, obstetrics/ gynecology, orthopedics, rehabilitation, stroke care, urology and vascular surgery. The Marymount Congregational Home, built in 1926, was recently renovated, and serves as a residence and administrative office for the founding Sisters. Also located here is the Child Care Center and Franciscan Center for spiritual development. Adjacent to the Congregational Home is The Village of Marymount, which offers a continuum of care in assisted living and rehabilitation to patients in transitional life stages. The Village is comprises Marymount Place, offering independent and assisted living services; Villa St. Joseph, a nursing and memory care center; and Clare Hall, which provides skilled and intermediate nursing care to the Sisters. Trinity High School is a coed Catholic high school where approximately 400 students gather in a community of faith and learning. To help educate students interested in becoming future health care providers, Marymount and Trinity have partnered to create an innovative Pre-Professional Internship program. This new program allows students to experience professional mentoring, develop reallife vocation skills, and refine their career interests while working at Marymount Hospital.
