Back in the game Marymount’s Rehab Services gets soccer player back on the field again By Meta McMillian Everett Palache reminded himself that every knee bend and bicycle ride meant that he was closer to overcoming his knee injury and closer to playing soccer again. It was this anticipation of returning to the field that helped Palache complete rigorous and rewarding rehabilitation therapy at Marymount Hospital last fall. Palache, 30, of South Euclid, began a nearly eightweek treatment plan in November 2009, after having undergone surgery to replace a torn ligament. He needed to rebuild muscle strength, stamina and agility. Palache praises his therapist Sally Gregg, DPT, for helping him complete his regimen. “My rehabilitation plan was excellent, and the atmosphere provided added energy to keep me motivated,” says Palache. He is a soccer coach for boys through the Cleveland United Soccer Club. He also plays midfield for 1776, a local amateur soccer team. “Everett was very well motivated,” concurs Manny Economos, Marymount’s coordinator of outpatient rehabilitation. “He progressed nicely throughout his therapy.” after undergoing surgery and rehabilitation at Marymount Hospital for a torn ligament, Everett Palache has returned to soccer.
